The Tale of a Gala Hot Dog Stand: Meet Nick Amberg
The Friendship that Started it All!
Have you ever wondered about the Hot Dog Stand that has become a tradition at the Spectrum Productions Annual Gala? The tale begins all the way back on January 29th, 2019, the beginnings of a fearless foodie friendship began brewing. Spectrum Productions' resident chef Peter, inspired by a delectable hotdog vendor on the streets of Toronto, vowed to begin the journey of making Pete's Perfect Gourmet Hotdog.
Joining forces with Nick Amberg in one of his first Eats with Pete episodes, Peter's quest had begun. Nick is no beginner when it comes to the art of sausage making, and this pivotal collaboration sparked the idea for our popular hotdog stand featured each year at our Annual Gala and Screening.
Although chef Pete is a well-known face amongst the Spectrum staff, creators, and community, our hotdog stand tradition would not be complete without Nick behind the counter as well.
We would like to thank Nick for generously donating his time each year to make the Gala a sizzling success, and we are so happy to have him back again for 2023! Be sure to greet him and Pete at this year's hotdog stand!

L'histoire commence le 29 janvier 2019, date à laquelle les prémices d'une amitié gastronomique intrépide ont commencé à germer. En joignant ses forces à celles de Nick Amberg dans l'un de ses premiers épisodes Eats with Pete, la quête de Peter a commencé. Nick n'est pas un débutant dans l'art de la fabrication de saucisses, et cette collaboration cruciale a donné naissance à notre populaire stand de hot-dogs, présenté chaque année lors de notre gala annuel et de notre projection.
Bien que le chef Pete soit un visage bien connu du personnel, des créateurs et de la communauté de Spectrum, la tradition de notre stand de hot-dogs ne serait pas complète sans Nick derrière le comptoir.
